Objective of the Game
Reach exactly 5000 points. But keep an eye on your opponents.
2+ players · 5 dice · Pen + paperStarting the Game
Choose the first player, then continue clockwise. Write everyone’s names on the score sheet to begin.
To enter the game, each player must score at least 500 points.
Scoring Points
Only two dice are worth points individually:
Combinations
Combinations are worth more points. They must be made in a single roll and cannot be split.
Full Hand
When all your dice score points (for example: ), you add up your points and must roll all 5 dice again. A full hand can be achieved in one or several rolls.
This is often where the biggest scores are made… or lost.
Straights
A straight such as or is worth 500 points. It therefore counts as a full hand.
Multiples
Three or more matching dice are worth:
Penalties
Penalties are marked as crosses below your latest score. On the second cross, your latest score is canceled (crossed out), and you return to the previous score that has not been crossed out. The penalty resets if a score is recorded on the next turn. If you fall back to 0, you must once again score at least 500 points to re-enter the game.
Penalties occur when:
- you score no points during your turn
- you exceed 5000 points
How a Turn Works
On your turn, roll all 5 dice.
- No points? You take a penalty and play passes to the next player.
- You scored points? You have two options:
- Record them and pass to the next player
- Try for more: reroll the dice. Be careful — you must keep at least one scoring die each roll. Combinations cannot be split.
- Want to push your luck? Reroll only the dice that score nothing. But beware: if you score nothing, you take a penalty and lose all points earned during that turn.
Taking Over a Score
If the previous player recorded a score, you may choose to take it over. To do so, you must already have entered the game, and you only reroll the dice that are not currently scoring points.
Deadly Tie
If you validate a score identical to any score in an opponent’s history, that score is crossed out on their sheet.
End of the Game
When a player reaches exactly 5000 points, they become the temporary winner.
The round is completed so that all players have played the same number of turns, hoping someone can steal the victory.
If nobody reaches 5000 to eliminate them, they win the game. The winner starts the next game.
Variants
Rule of 50
You are not allowed to stop on a score ending in 50. You must reach a multiple of 100 or else... it counts as a fault.
Burn
Going over 5000 is fatal: your current points are canceled and your previous score is crossed out. You fall back to the last score that was not crossed out.
